Our complete review of the fun, but getting dated, Lexus RC-F:

Was it ever relevant?
I’ll take an LC500 though, those look amazing.

I like the RC quite a bit. I can easily see myself driving a CPO RC 350 in a few years when I can afford it.

GS-F all day, RC needs more doors. As an owner of a IS350 RWD F sport, it never made sense that the version with 2 less doors was somehow slightly larger and heavier.

LC500 (non-hybrid) dates the RC-F even more so.

Dealer was selling a almost-new ‘ 17 RC-F and was pimping it pretty hard in the IS-F community. Test drove it and it’s really cramped inside, though comfortable. The transmission shifts a lot better than the one in the IS, but you can’t really feel the extra ~ 50 horses.
Not worth it IMO to go from ISF to RCF unless you like the looks, or refreshed amenities.
Engine sounds great, though. If you’re already familiar with the interior amenities and are a Lexus fan, you could do a lot worse, especially if you don’t have a precursor F already.

I very much want a GS-F. Someone at the company across the street from my office has one and I routinely drool at it. A 2011+ IS-F would be very nice as well, but I’m a bit tall for them.

i wanted to want an IS-F. I drove one but just couldnt justify the extra power to live with the dated interior. For roughly the same price i ended up with an is350 rwd f sport and just drive it almost entirely in sport+. The cabin is much more livable and the suspension was much more compliant in old person mode then the early IS-F.

I’ve read that the 2008-2010 ISFs were really rough on road. They never seem to come up for sale by me, so I can’t say first hand. How does the interior space of the ISF compare to the normal IS? I’ve read that the seat is lower, which is what i need to fit.

its been a while and since they were two difference generations it is hard to tell. the seat goes pretty low on my 2014. Im only 5'8" but i can get it low enough that my sight line is just over the instrument cluster
